Manuel Cousin (Coupe de Pouce), 23th

His mast was struck by lightning at the very beginning of the race, damaging his aerial instruments, and Manuel Cousin was deprived of his two automatic pilots. However, the tenacious skipper of Coup de Pouce managed to find a solution and then get back into the race after putting it on hold for 24 hours. Better still, he also managed to catch up with the fleet before being trapped, like the majority of his competitors, in the erratic light airs of the anticyclone. On Thursday 13th June at 19 hours and 31 minutes, he crossed the finish line of the New York Vendée - Les Sables d'Olonne in 23rd position after 14 days, 23 hours and 31 minutes of racing.
