Yannick Bestaven (Maître CoQ V), 20th

Yannick Bestaven was frustrated very early on by the breakage of two mainsail battens and then by the breakage of his J2 forestay on the ninth day of racing, and had a complicated race overall, with the result that he never really got to compete with his usual rivals in this second edition of the New York Vendée - Les Sables d'Olonne. On Thursday 13th June at 18 hours and 08 minutes, the skipper of Maître CoQ V completed the 3,200 theoretical miles of the course in 20th position after 14 days, 22 hours, 08 minutes of racing, having nevertheless shown determination and resilience.
